The Good Foods to Eat and Why

Here’s a list of foods which are very good for you.  Without any fancy talk, each item tells you what its good for and what health problems it supports.  What could be easier than that?

I’ll keep adding to the list, as I am sure there are other good foods to add (e.g. bananas).

Apples – good for the heart, teeth and gums.  Supportive as regards to strokes and heart conditions.

Beans – supportive as to cancer and cholesterol.

Brazil nuts – good for the heart and the immune system.  Supportive as to the heart, diabetes and cancer.

Broccoli – good for the eyes.  Supportive as to cancer and male cancers.

Brussel Sprouts – contain several cancer-fighting chemicals.

Carrots – good for the eyes (yeah, yeah, that’s why you never see a rabbit wearing glasses ….).

Cinnamon – supportive as to cholesterol and diabetes.

Figs – good for bones and the eyes.

Garlic – good for the blood, the stomach (said to reduce the risk of stomach cancer) and the immune system.  Supportive as to cholesterol and the respiratory system.

Ginger – good for the blood.  Supportive as to cancer (said to slow down bowel cancer).

Green Vegetables – Supportive as to cancer and male cancers.

Honey – good for the stomach and the throat.

Lentils – good for the heart.  Supportive as to cholesterol and diabetes.

Mustard – Supportive as to cancer (said to slow down the growth of exiting cancer cells and to prevent the development of more).

Nuts and seeds – They’re rich in selenium and vitamin E, which keep your skin healthy.

Oatmeal – good for the heart.  Supportive of cholesterol and cancer.

Onions – good for the blood, the heart, the liver, stomach, the respiratory system and the immune system.  Supportive of cancer, being said to reduce the risk, especially in that of the stomach.

Peppers – good for the eyes, the lungs and the immune system.  Supportive of the respiratory system.  Fresh peppers contain vitamin C, which is needed to produce collagen for healthy skin.

Spinach – good for the heart, eyes, blood, bones, and the respiratory system.  Supportive of cancer, female cancers, male cancers (said to slow down bowel cancer and give you an increased ability to fight off others), arthritis, diabetes, and strokes.

Sweet Potatoes – good for the eyes and the heart.  Supportive of cancer (said to reduce the risk).

Tomatoes – supportive of cancers and male cancers (said to lower the risk of many cancers, with a good effect on that of the stomach).  Tomatoes contain a magic lycopene (the only fancy world you’ll ever hear me use, because I like it!), which is said to be more powerful if the tomatoes are cooked with oil.

Yogurt – good for the teeth and gums.
